Murphy’s Sign for the Gallbladder

• Place fingers to of rectus just below rib cage
• Ask patient to take a deep breath
• Red flag: Sudden pain & abdominal muscle tensing that ceases inspiration is suggestive of gallbladder pathology; pain also with FB
