Because of the rectal spasms and anorectal tenderness, urinary retention is a major concern to patients with hemorrhoidectomy. To prevent bladder distention, detailed urinary output should be recorded by the nurse and a Foley catheter should be ready to be inserted if urinary retention is suspected. Another rare but potential complication is hemorrhage as it could be internal and not visible. Careful vital signs monitoring is requested (Ignatavicius & Workman, 2015).
