Abciximab (ReoPro) (GP IIb/IIIa Platelet Inhibitor)
UA/NSTEMI (PCI planned within 24 hr): 0.25 mg/kg IV 10–60 min before procedure, then infuse 0.125 mcg/kg/min
PCI only: 0.25 mg/kg IV, then 10 mcg/min infusion
Contraindicated: active internal bleeding, neurovascular event, major surgery or trauma within 1 mo, platelet count <150,000/mm3, concomitant use of another GB IIb/IIIa inhibitor
Side effects: increased bleeding and bruising, GI irritation
Precautions: must be given with heparin
