Workup for an Outpatient with A Renal Stone
- Dietary and fluid intake history
- Careful medical history and physical examination, focusing on systemic diseases
- Noncontrast helical CT, with 5-mm CT cuts
- Routine UA; presence of crystals, hematuria, measurement of urine pH
- Serum chemistries: BUN, Cr, uric acid, calcium, phosphate, chloride, bicarbonate, PTH
- Timed urine collections (at least 1 day during week, 1 day on weekend): Cr, Na, K, urea nitrogen, uric acid, calcium, phosphate, oxalate, citrate, pH
