Formula used:

BMI = Weight / Height^2

Where,

  • Weight = Body weight in kg
  • Height = Height in M

The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a method of looking at appropriateness of body weight to height. The World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control have come out with the following definitions:

Interpretation

  • <18.5 = "Underweight"
  • 18.5 - 24.9 = "Normal weight"
  • 25.0 - 29.9 = "Overweight"
  • >=30 = "Obese"
  • 30.0 - 34.9 = "Obesity Class I"
  • 35.0 - 39.9 = "Obesity Class II"
  • >=40 = "Obesity Class III"
