This evaluation looked at patients with atrial fibrillation NOT on Warfarin. This scale factors age, gender, systolic blood pressure, diabetes and prior stroke or TIA into consideration to develop an overall risk of stroke within the next 5 years in patients with atrial fibrillation. Points are summed and from the total points a 5 year stroke risk is calculated.
