Elizabeth Heavey, PhD, RN, CNM , is a professor of nursing and graduate program director at SUNY Brockport, where she previously led the Hybrid RN–BSN program. A certified nurse-midwife and epidemiologist with over 17 years of clinical experience, she continues to practice in Rochester, NY. Dr. Heavey has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles on topics such as mental health, infectious diseases, and public health nursing, and serves on the editorial board of Nursing journal.
