Generic Name

• Metoprolol Tartrate (CAS Registry Number: 56392-17-7)

Metoprolol tartrate is available in 5-mL ampuls, vials, and syringe cartridges.³⁵⁴²; ³⁵⁴³ Each mL of solution contains 1 mg of metoprolol tartrate and 9 mg of sodium chloride.³⁵⁴²

pH

The pH of the injection ranges from 5 to 8.⁵¹⁴

Metoprolol tartrate is administered intravenously.³⁵⁴²

Metoprolol tartrate injection should be stored at controlled room temperature in the original carton and protected from light and freezing.³⁵⁴²

Metoprolol tartrate under simulated summer conditions in paramedic vehicles was exposed to temperatures ranging from 26 to 38°C over 4 weeks. Analysis found no loss of the drug under these conditions.²⁵⁶²
