Methylprednisolone acetate is administered by intramuscular, intra-articular, intrasynovial, soft tissue, and intralesional injection without dilution.3875 The drug is a suspension that must not be administered intravenously.3875 Care should be taken to avoid injection or leakage into the dermis.3875 Injection into the deltoid muscle should be avoided because of a high incidence of subcutaneous atrophy.3875
The intact vials should be stored at controlled room temperature.3875 Unused portions of single-dose vials should be discarded.3876
