Sugammadex is available as a 100-mg/mL solution in 2- and 5-mL single-use vials as the sodium salt.3111 The solution also contains hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment.3111

The pH is adjusted to a range of 7 to 8.3111

Osmolality

The osmolality of sugammadex sodium 100-mg/mL solution is within the range of 300 to 500 mOsm/kg.3111

Administration

Sugammadex should be administered intravenously as a single bolus injection over 10 seconds into an existing intravenous line.3111 The intravenous line should be adequately flushed with a compatible infusion solution (e.g., sodium chloride 0.9%) prior to and following administration of sugammadex.3111

Stability

Sugammadex injection is a clear, colorless to slightly yellow-brown solution.3111 Intact vials of the drug should be stored at controlled room temperature and protected from light.3111 Vials not protected from light should be used within 5 days.3111
