Pertuzumab is available as a preservative-free solution at a concentration of 30 mg/mL in 420-mg single-use vials.3091 Each vial also contains L-histidine acetate 20 mM, sucrose 120 mM, and polysorbate 20 0.02%.3091

Vials of pertuzumab should be visually inspected for particulate matter and discoloration.3091 To prepare a solution for infusion, the appropriate dose of the solution should be diluted in 250 mL of sodium chloride 0.9% in a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polyolefin bag; dextrose 5% should not be used.3091 The infusion bag should be gently inverted to mix the diluted solution.3091 The diluted solution should not be shaken.3091

Administration

Pertuzumab is administered only by intravenous infusion following dilution in 250 mL of sodium chloride 0.9%.3091 Doses of 840 mg should be infused over 60 minutes; doses of 420 mg should be infused over 30 to 60 minutes.3091 Pertuzumab should not be administered by intravenous push or bolus injection.3091

Stability

Intact vials of pertuzumab should be stored at 2 to 8°C in the outer carton to protect from light until time of use.3091 The drug should not be frozen or shaken.3091

The manufacturer recommends that diluted solutions of pertuzumab be used immediately once prepared; however, diluted solutions may be stored at 2 to 8°C for up to 24 hours when prepared as directed.3091 The manufacturer states that pertuzumab should not be mixed with other drugs.3091
