Products

Aminocaproic acid is available as a 250-mg/mL concentrate for injection in 20-mL vials containing aminocaproic acid 5 g in water for injection and may contain hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment.1360; 1361 Aminocaproic acid concentrate for injection is available with benzyl alcohol 0.9% as a preservative in multiple-dose vials and also in preservative-free form in single-dose vials.1360; 1361 The concentrate must be diluted prior to administration.1360; 1361

The concentrate has a pH of approximately 6.8.1360; 1361

Administration

Aminocaproic acid is administered by intravenous infusion after dilution in a compatible solution.1360; 1361 Rapid intravenous injection of the undiluted drug is not recommended.1360; 1361

Stability

Intact vials should be stored at controlled room temperature.1360; 1361
