Generic Name

• Trimethobenzamide Hydrochloride

Trimethobenzamide hydrochloride is available as a 100-mg/mL injection solution in 2-mL single-dose and 20-mL multiple-dose vials.¹²² Each mL of solution contains trimethobenzamide hydrochloride 100 mg along with sodium citrate, citric acid, and sodium hydroxide to adjust pH.¹²² The multiple-dose vials also contain phenol 0.45%.^1(6/09)

Trimethobenzamide hydrochloride is administered by intramuscular injection.¹²² Injection site pain and swelling may be minimized by deep injection into the upper outer quadrant of the gluteal region.¹²² Intravenous injection is not recommended.¹²²

Trimethobenzamide hydrochloride should be stored at controlled room temperature.¹²²
