Atezolizumab is available as a 60-mg/mL concentrate for injection in 14- and 20-mL preservative-free, single-dose vials.3871 Each 14-mL vial contains atezolizumab 840 mg with glacial acetic acid 11.5 mg, L-histidine 43.4 mg, polysorbate 20 5.6 mg, and sucrose 575.1 mg.3871 Each 20-mL vial contains atezolizumab 1200 mg with glacial acetic acid 16.5 mg, L-histidine 62 mg, polysorbate 20 8 mg, and sucrose 821.6 mg.3871
The concentrate must be diluted prior to administration.3871 To prepare the drug for intravenous infusion, the appropriate dose of the concentrate should be withdrawn from the vial and diluted in sodium chloride 0.9% to a final atezolizumab concentration between 3.2 and 16.8 mg/mL.3871 The solution should be mixed by gentle inversion and should not be shaken.3871 Infusion containers composed of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene, or polyolefin may be used.3871 Any unused portion remaining in vials should be discarded.3871

Intact vials of atezolizumab should be stored at 2 to 8°C in the original carton to protect from light and should not be shaken or frozen.3871 The concentrate for injection is a colorless to slightly yellow solution.3871 Vials should be visually inspected for particulate matter and discoloration prior to use; discard the solution if it is cloudy, discolored, or contains visible particles.3871
The manufacturer states diluted solutions may be stored for not more than 6 hours at room temperature, including administration time, or 24 hours at 2 to 8°C.3871 Diluted solutions should not be shaken or frozen.3871
