Products

Flumazenil is available as a 0.1-mg/mL solution in 5- and 10-mL multiple-dose vials.3020 Each mL also contains methylparaben 1.8 mg, propylparaben 0.2 mg, sodium chloride 0.9%, edetate disodium 0.01%, and acetic acid 0.01%.3020 The pH is adjusted with hydrochloric acid and, if necessary, sodium hydroxide.3020

Administration

Flumazenil is administered intravenously over 15 to 30 seconds.3020 To minimize pain at the injection site, flumazenil should be administered through a freely running intravenous infusion line into a large vein.3020 Extravasation may result in local irritation.3020

Stability

Intact vials should be stored at controlled room temperature.3020 Discard the product 24 hours after removal from its original vial, whether drawn into a syringe or admixed in an infusion solution.3020
