Levocarnitine is available as a 200-mg/mL solution in single-use (preservative-free) 5-mL vials containing 1 g of levocarnitine with hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide to adjust the pH in water for injection.³²¹⁷; ³²¹⁸

Intact vials should be stored at controlled room temperature.³²¹⁷; ³²¹⁸ One manufacturer states that vials of the drug should be kept in the carton to protect from light until time of use and that vials should not be frozen.³²¹⁸
