Products

Estrogens, conjugated is available as a lyophilized powder or cake in single-dose vials containing estrogens, conjugated 25 mg.4024 Each vial also contains lactose 200 mg, sodium citrate 12.2 mg, simethicone 0.2 mg, and sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid for pH adjustment.4024 Reconstitute the vial with 5 mL of sterile water for injection, directing the diluent slowly against the side of the vial and agitate gently; do not shake violently.4024

Administration

Estrogens, conjugated may be administered by intramuscular injection or slow direct intravenous injection.4024 Although intravenous infusion with other drugs is generally not recommended, the manufacturer states injection into the tubing of a running infusion just distal to the infusion needle may be performed.4024

Stability

Intact containers should be stored at 2 to 8°C.4024 Although refrigerated storage is required, the manufacturer has stated the drug may be stored at room temperature for 7 days.2745 Solutions should be used immediately after reconstitution.4024

pH Effects

Estrogens, conjugated, has been stated to be incompatible with any solution with an acid pH.4024
