• Vitamin K deficiency (prolonged PT and aPTT)
• Liver disease

  Systemic activation of coagulation that results in an imbalance of hemostasis
  Always associated with a comorbid condition (infection, inflammation, malignancy)
  Diffuse thrombosis that may lead to multiple organ system failure or consumptive coagulopathy and bleeding
  Treatment of underlying disorder is mainstay of management and fresh frozen plasma
