Symptoms Used to Diagnose CFS*• Increased malaise following physical activity or mental exertion
• Sleep disturbances (insomnia or hypersomnia)
• Difficulties with memory and concentration
• Persistent muscle discomfort or myalgia
• Painful lymph nodes esp. in the neck or armpit
• Migratory arthralgia without joint swelling or redness
• Headache
• Sore throat
Other Symptoms• Brain fog
• Difficulty maintaining an upright position, dizziness, balance problems, or fainting
• Allergies or sensitivities to foods, odors, chemicals, medications, or noise
• Irritable bowel syndrome
• Chills and night sweats
• Visual disturbances (sensitivity to light, blurring, eye pain)
• Depression or mood problems (irritability, mood swings, anxiety, panic attacks)

* These symptoms must have lasted at least 6 months.
