S. binder A many-tailed binder or band age wrapped in a succession of interlocking, overlapping band s and originally used to enclose a splint against a fractured extremity but now used without the splint or impregnated as a supporting band age of the abdomen or lower extremity. The binder holds dressings in place and supports abdominal muscles postoperatively.

S. position A position in which the head is low and the body is on an inclined plane.
