1. Causing pupillary dilatation.
2. A drug that dilates the pupil, such as atropine, cocaine, ephedrine, euphthalmine, and homatropine. In certain eye diseases, it is essential that the pupil be dilated during the course of treatment to prevent adhesions of the pupils.
