B. aphasia Motor aphasia.

B. area The area of the left hemisphere of the brain at the posterior end of the inferior frontal gyrus. It contains the motor speech area and controls movements of tongue, lips, and vocal cords. Loss of speech may follow any stroke affecting this area. SYN: Broca center; Broca convolution; motor speech area; speech center.
