A cancer arising from mesenchymal tissue such as muscle or bone, which may affect the bones, bladder, kidneys, liver, lungs, parotids, and spleen.

botryoid s.A rare malignant connective tissue sarcoma occurring in the uterus, bladder, vagina, liver, or biliary tree. SYN: embryonal rhabdosarcoma.

endometrial s.A malignant sarcoma of the endometrial stroma.

giant-cell s.Giant cell tumor.

osteogenic s.A sarcoma composed of bony tissue. It is the most common bony cancer and typically afflicts adolescents.

It is treated with surgery (to resect the tumor) and chemotherapy.

SYN: osteosarcoma.

reticulum cell s.A rare form of malignant large cell lymphoma.

spindle cell s.A sarcoma consisting of small and large spindle-shaped cells.
