A61-year-old woman with rheumatoid arthritis had pain and fluctuating swelling on the dorsal side of the wrist indicating tenosynovitis. The skin is thoroughly cleansed, after which the fluid collection is aspirated and methylprednisolone is injected. The puncture site is covered with self-adhesive sterile dressing, and it should not be allowed to get wet on the puncture day.
