Superficial Basal Cell Carcinoma

Superficial basal cell carcinoma. On the left, a superficial basal cell carcinoma of the axillary region, a well-defined plaque-like erythema with scaly patches on the surface; characterised by a lack of response to topical treatments (e.g. corticosteroid creams). On the right, a patch of psoriasis on the thigh. Other typical differential diagnoses of superficial basal cell carcinoma include actinic keratosis, carcinoma in situ (Bowen's disease), eczemas and tinea.
