Very Large Prostate

A 70-year-old man had been prescribed tamsulosin 4 years ago. The symptoms had gradually increased so that he had to void 4-5 times every night and the IPSS score was 16. In ultrasonography, the prostate was round-shaped and and its estimated volume 0.6×5.9×6.3×6.1 = 136 ml. One week later urinary retention developed, and open prostatectomy was subsequently performed.
