Antihistamines for Anaphylaxis

There is no evidence from randomized controlled trials concerning the benefits or harms of H1-antihistamines in the treatment of anaphylaxis. Level of evidence: "D"

A Cochrane review [Abstract] 1 included no studies. The authors found no randomized or quasi-randomized controlled trials comparing H1-antihistamines with placebo or no intervention in the treatment of anaphylaxis. These are likely to prove challenging to design and execute.
