Pigmented Purpuric Dermatitis in the Legs

Pigmented purpuric dermatitis in the legs. Pigmented purpuric dermatitis is most common in the lower extremities. Sometimes this symptomless and harmless purpuric eruption may also appear in the upper extremities and on the trunk. Spot-like petechiae are seen in the skin, often arranged in small clusters. The pigment marks may be visible for a long time. Increased venous pressure and strain may be precipitatory factors. Other causes of purpura should be excluded (see Easy Bruising, Petechiae and Ecchymoses).
