Erysipelas of the Face

Erysipelas of the face. Erysipelas is caused by beta-haemolytic streptococci and it is a skin infection with general symptoms. Although vesicles may also occur and, when the infection origin is on the auricle of the ear, the infection on the face may be unilateral, its spread is not limited to the midline, the patient has fever and laboratory tests suggest bacterial infection.
