Thyroid Cyst (Ultrasonography)

A 44-year-old woman had enlargement of the right lobe of the thyroid gland. The enlarged lobe is visible at inspection and felt by palpation, most easily when the patient swallows. The consistency is rather soft and contour is smooth. There was a feeling of fullness and pressure on the neck. Ultrasonography shows a multilocular cyst 35 mm in diameter filling most of the right lobe. At the end of the video the probe is moved over the larynx on the left lobe of the thyroid which is normal. The patient was referred for surgical removal of the cyst.
