Dermal Atrophy on the Ankle after a Superficial Corticosteroid Injection

Dermal atrophy on the ankle after a superficial corticosteroid injection. A corticosteroid preparation was injected into painful lumps in the patient's ankle. The result was a permanent looking atrophic patch, which was also prone to developing haemorrhages. Such risk has been associated, in particular, with triamcinolone preparations.
