Morbus Ritter, Pemphigus Neonatorum

Morbus Ritter, Pemphigus neonatorum. Morbus Ritter, Pemphigus neonatorum (a misnomer since it is not a Pemphigus disease), Ritter's disease, in adults called Staphylococcal Scalded Skin Syndrome (SSSS). Symptoms include superficial epidermal detachment; the whole epidermis is not detached. Caused by Staphycoccus aureus (phage group II - usually type 71), the toxin of which causes the symptom. The patient requires hospital care.
