Arterial Graft Patency in Conventional and Mini-Invasive Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting

According to case series, the patency of left internal mammary artery graft may be 90% or greater in both conventional and minimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafting. There is no reliable data from long-term outcomes or from high-quality comparative studies. Level of evidence: "C"

A systematic review 1 including 27 case series with almost 7 000 subjects was abstracted in DARE. Patency as ascertained by angiography (mostly assessed at less than 96 hours) after left internal mammary graft in minimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafting ranged from 93.7% to 100%. The percentage of patients studied ranged from 62% to 100%. Patency after conventional CABG ascertained by early angiography ranged from 94% to 99%. The percentage of patients studied ranged from 45% to 100%.
