Systemic Therapy for Mycosis Fungoides and Sezary Syndrome

Systemic therapy appears to be effective and palliative in mycosis fungoides and Sezary syndrome Level of evidence: "B"

A systematic review 1 including 5 RCTs and 73 other studies with a total of 1834 subjects was abstracted in DARE. Single-agent chemotherapy resulted in 62% complete or partial response. Combination chemotherapy resulted in 81% complete or partial response. Several other treatments resulted in greater than 50% response.

Comment: The level of evidence is downgraded by inconsistency (differences in interventions and outcomes). The data included in the review are principally case series.
