Erythema Migrans in the Foot Caused by Borrelia

Erythema migrans in the foot caused by Borrelia. Erythema migrans, sign of the first stage of infection caused by Borrelia. The reddish margin moves peripherally. In this case the site of the tick bite is in the foot, and infection spreads upwards. Serology is usually negative at this early phase of infection. Today, e.g. amoxycilline or doxycycline are considered appropriate antibiotics in the early phase of borrelial infection.
