Local Treatment and Prevention of Solar Keratosis with Tretinoin

Topical tretinoin may reduce photoageing changes of the skin. Level of evidence: "C"

A double-blind, placebo-controlled study confirmed that topical tretinoin produced an overall improvement in photoaged skin and decreased solar keratosis 1.

Comment: The quality of evidence is downgraded by imprecise results (few patients and wide confidence intervals) and by potential reporting bias (no systematic literature search was performed).
