Median rhomboid glossitis. Median rhomboid glossitis (glossitis rhomboidea mediana) is a lesion on the surface of the tongue, located along the midline anterior to the circumvallate papillae. The lesion is usually smooth-surfaced or lobular, and has a rhomboid or oval shape.
