Chronic Paronychia

Chronic paronychia. Chronic paronychia has formed creases in the nail, meaning that the problem has already lasted for months. The cuticle is missing and the nail wall is swollen and reddened. Moisture remains in the pocket formed by the nail wall providing favourable conditions for microbial growth. Yeast is actually a more common cause of a chronicized infection than bacteria.
