Lichen Planus on the Leg

Lichen planus on the leg.Hypertrophic lichen planus most commonly occurs on the legs and in patients with venous insufficiency. Itching is intensive and the considerable thickening of the lesions may be partly due to scratching. The delicate meshy pattern typical of lichen planus is not anymore discernible. The wart-like nodule should be biopsied to exclude squamous cell carcinoma.
