Perioral Dermatitis Under the Nose

Perioral dermatitis under the nose. Reddened non-itchy papules that may initially respond well to topical corticosteroids but later become chronic. This patient has used a moderately potent topical corticosteroid for a longer time. Discontinuation of the steroid may cause a temporary flare-up of the dermatitis (so-called ”steroid hangover”) but later on it will resolve spontaneously or with the support of treatment.
