Purpura Pigmentosa in the Lower Leg

Purpura pigmentosa in the lower leg. A purpuric, yellowish-reddish-brown patch in the lower leg may be called purpura pigmentosa, P. simplex or Lichen aureus. The aetiology is non-thrombocytopenic, there may be mild pruritus and recovery is spontaneous. Mild topical corticosteroids and emollients may be used.
