Self-inflicted skin lesions. Self-inflicted skin lesions - most commonly with a nail - may cause problems with differential diagnosis. Pruritic skin diseases may cause similar secondary skin changes. Still more difficult is to achieve the patient's acceptance to the theory of the psychogenicity of the problem.
