Eczema of the Legs

Eczema of the legs. A reddish, chapped and scaly leg eczema with ill-defined margins may raise suspicion of erysipelas but systemic symptoms are lacking, and erysipelas rarely is symmetric. The underlying disease may be varicosis, or contact allergy to some topically used substance, e.g. hydrocortisone that the patient has previously used to treat a minor eczema.
