Solar Keratosis on the Nose

Solar keratosis on the nose. Solar keratosis (AK, actinic keratosis) is the result of life-long exposure to the sun's UV rays.Skin changes with reddish, rough skin surface, often multiple, and which are non-responding to topical corticoids, are usually solar (actinic) keratosis. In the case shown here the treatment method of choice is cryosurgery with liquid nitrogen. In more widespread cases a good alternative is photodynamic therapy (PDT).
