Squamous cell carcinoma of the lung in the upper lobe of the left lung. A consolidation with a diameter of little over one centimetre was found in in a 49-year-old woman who had smoked almost 30 years. The diagnosis was established as squamous cell carcinoma by core needle biopsy. The left upper lobe was removed by radical surgery. There was no metastatic spread to lymph nodes.
