Herpes vesicles in the finger.Herpesinfection in a finger. A cluster of translucent vesicles is seen against a reddened and swollen background. The finger is tender and aching. Where the skin is thicker, also the vesicles have thicker walls and last longer. An eczema may also present with vesicles but herpes infection starts on healthy skin.
