Sarcoidosis on the facial skin. Sarcoidosis on the facial skin appears as bluish-red indurated plaque, "lupus pernio", which is free of subjective symptoms. Pulmonary sarcoidosis is the main problem; the skin lesion is disturbing only cosmetically. Potent topical corticosteroids are not used because of the risk of skin atrophy.
