Diffuse scleroderma. Diffuse scleroderma (progressive systemic sclerosis, PSS) is an autoimmune disorder affecting the whole skin/body. The skin is thickened and inelastic, the fingers swell ("sausage-deformity"), leading to difficulty in the use of the hand. Raynaud's phenomenon and involvement of the inner organs are common findings.
