Eczema on the lower leg due to venous insufficiency. The first sign of venous insufficiency in the lower leg is usually swelling, followed by eczema. If the swelling is not treated with appropriate bandaging, compression stockings or surgery + compression stockings, the eczema will not heal and the patient is at risk of a leg ulcer.
