Electronic Mosquito Repellents for Preventing Mosquito Bites and Malaria Infection
Electronic mosquito repellents appear not to be effective in preventing mosquito bites and malaria infection. Level of evidence: "B"A Cochrane review [Abstract] 1 included 10 field studies and no randomized or quasi-randomized controlled trials on the efficacy of EMR on malaria infection were found. There was no difference in the number of mosquitoes caught from the bare body parts of the human participants with or without an EMR.
Comment: The quality of evidence is upgraded from low to moderate by clear and consistent results.
